About Rigin

- Rigin is the trade name for palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, a synthetic lipidated peptide made by linking palmitic acid to a glycine-glutamine-proline-arginine sequence. It is used in topical cosmetics, often blended with palmitoyl tripeptide-1 in products such as Matrixyl 3000. Laboratory work reports that it lowers secretion of the inflammatory cytokine interleukin-6 in skin cells. Evidence for benefit rests largely on manufacturer and cell-based testing.
