About PTD-DBM

What it is
PTD-DBM is a synthetic cell-penetrating peptide carrying a Dishevelled-binding motif. It was designed to block the interaction between CXXC5, a negative regulator of Wnt/beta-catenin signaling, and Dishevelled. In mouse studies it accelerated hair regrowth and wound-induced hair follicle neogenesis, usually alongside microneedling. No completed human efficacy trials have been published.
How it works
Competitively disrupts the CXXC5-Dishevelled protein interaction, relieving CXXC5 mediated suppression of the canonical Wnt/beta-catenin pathway and allowing hair follicle stem cell activation in laboratory models.
